Post-Publication Discussion

Journal of Educational Science and E-Learning (JESE) welcomes constructive scholarly discussion and feedback on articles after publication. Post-publication discussion provides an opportunity for readers, researchers, authors, and other members of the academic community to raise questions, provide comments, clarify findings, identify potential errors, or discuss issues related to published articles.

Post-Publication Comments

Readers who wish to comment on or discuss a published article may contact the Editorial Office through the journal's official email or other official communication channels. Comments should:

  • be directly relevant to the published article;

  • provide a clear and substantive academic contribution;

  • be based on evidence, sound reasoning, and scholarly discussion;

  • maintain a respectful, objective, and professional tone; and

  • avoid personal attacks, defamatory statements, discriminatory content, promotional material, or inappropriate language.

The Editorial Team will assess submitted comments for relevance, academic value, ethical considerations, and compliance with the journal's publication policies before deciding whether they are suitable for publication or further discussion.

Author Response

When appropriate, the authors of the original article may be invited to respond to substantive comments, questions, or concerns. Authors are encouraged to provide a clear, evidence-based, and constructive response.

The journal may publish the original comment and the author's response as part of the post-publication scholarly record where appropriate. The opportunity to respond does not imply that the authors must agree with the comments or concerns raised.

Corrections and Concerns

If post-publication discussion identifies a potential error, omission, ethical concern, methodological issue, or other matter that may affect the accuracy, reliability, or integrity of a published article, the Editorial Team will assess the matter in accordance with the journal's publication-ethics policies.

Depending on the nature and significance of the issue, JESE may:

  • request clarification or additional information from the authors;

  • publish a Correction where the issue can be appropriately corrected without invalidating the main findings or conclusions;

  • publish an Expression of Concern where substantial concerns exist but the available evidence is insufficient to reach a final conclusion;

  • initiate further investigation or contact the relevant author's institution or research organization where appropriate; or

  • publish a Retraction when the reliability or integrity of the published work is seriously compromised.

Post-publication discussion does not replace the journal's formal procedures for handling allegations of research or publication misconduct.

Editorial Moderation

JESE reserves the right to moderate, decline, or remove comments that are:

  • irrelevant to the published article;

  • abusive, threatening, or defamatory;

  • discriminatory or harassing;

  • promotional or commercial in nature;

  • based on unsupported allegations;

  • in violation of confidentiality or privacy;

  • inconsistent with applicable ethical or legal standards; or

  • otherwise unsuitable for constructive scholarly communication.

Moderation will be conducted fairly and consistently, without suppressing legitimate academic disagreement or criticism.

Integrity of Post-Publication Discussion

Post-publication discussion is intended to support the continuous evaluation and improvement of scholarly work. Constructive criticism, alternative interpretations, methodological discussion, and identification of potential errors are considered a normal and valuable part of scholarly communication.

JESE is committed to ensuring that substantive post-publication concerns are assessed objectively and, where necessary, addressed through appropriate editorial actions. Any Correction, Expression of Concern, or Retraction resulting from post-publication assessment will be clearly identified and linked to the affected article in accordance with the journal's Correction, Retraction, and Withdrawal Policy.

All participants in post-publication discussion are expected to maintain professional standards and contribute to the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record.
